Youth Seasonal Programs
We’ve taken the best of our season-long kids programs, including all mountain skiers and riders, and unified them into one structure. We’re welcoming kids from 4 to 16 to ski and ride with us to build skiing and snowboarding skills and explore the mountain in a safe and fun environment. In addition to lessons every week, each student who signs up will get a voucher for 2 lift tickets, which they can use themselves, or to introduce a friend to Mt. Abram. Vouchers can be used any time in the 21/22 season.
All programs are half-day: two hours in the morning or afternoon, and run for 8 weeks. We will be supporting all different levels of abilities, from never-evers to all-mountain skiers. Kids will be in small groups with other skiers or riders of similar age and ability.
Programs will run from January 7th through March 6th (no meeting 2/21 – 2/27), and you can choose which time slot best fits your family: Friday PM, (Saturday AM or PM), or (Sunday AM) or PM. The morning session begins at 9:30am and the afternoon at 1:00pm.
Season passes are sold separately, and seasonal equipment rentals are available. Since lodge space is limited this year, we are asking that all kids arrive booted and ready to go. Don’t forget dry socks, hand or toe warmers and plenty of their own tissues! Space is limited, so sign up now!
Adult Seasonal Program
Why should the kids have all the fun? This six week program is open to adults of all skiing abilities who are interested in improving their skills and exploring new terrain. This is a great way to help you keep up with the kiddos! This is a 90-minute group session offered simultaneously with the Youth Seasonal Program for scheduling convenience.
Programming will run from January 14th through February 20th and you can choose which time slot best fits your family: Friday PM, Saturday AM or PM, or Sunday AM or PM. Sessions begin at 9:45 or 1:15, respectively.
Season passes are sold separately, and seasonal equipment rentals are available. The Mount Abram Competition Program is made up of athletes ranging from 8-18 who have a drive to learn new skills, compete and have fun. In order to participate, athletes should be comfortable skiing all-mountain terrain. Training often occurs on the Boris Badenov or Dudley Do Right trails.
The Competition Program at Mt. Abram is unique among alpine race programs in Maine. Our goal is to support athletes who are competing at local, middle school and high school races. For younger athletes, weekend training follows a progression throughout the season that will help prepare for competition at Maine Alpine Race Association (MARA) youth races. We often compete at venues including Black Mountain and Lost Valley.
For Middle and High School aged athletes, the goal of the program shifts to help prepare them to be competitive in their school programs. The training progression is built around the local high school race schedule, building towards the respective state championships. Athletes are welcome to participate in US Ski & Snowboard races if they desire to, however, that is not the focus of the program and coach support is not guaranteed at those races.
The Competition Program trains Saturday and Sundays throughout the season, as well as specific days over vacation periods. The training schedule is still to be determined, but will start mid-late December and run through the first week in March.
Season passes or day tickets are sold separately.
