Perfect for riders who are new to downhill mountain biking or riding at a lift-served bike park for the first time.
Morning Session

Intro to Downhill
Get comfortable with the bike park experience while learning the foundational skills needed to ride downhill with greater control and confidence.

Afternoon Session
1:00–4:00 pm
Downhill FUNdamentals
Continue building your skills through cornering, technical terrain, body positioning, and finding your flow on the mountain. Coaches will tailor the session to the group and help each rider progress at a comfortable pace.

Designed for riders who are comfortable on green and blue bike park trails and are ready to build confidence on more challenging terrain.
Morning Session

Coaches will begin by assessing the group’s current skills before moving into focused cornering practice on both flow and technical trails.

Afternoon Session
1:00–4:00 pm
The afternoon will focus on jumps, drops, technical riding, and bike control.
Whether you are getting your wheels off the ground for the first time or are already comfortable in the air, coaches will help you build confidence and progress at your own pace. Riders who are ready may also work on adding more speed, style, and control.
All features are optional, and coaching will be adapted to each rider’s comfort level.

For experienced riders who are comfortable on advanced bike park terrain and want to refine their speed, style, precision, and technical riding.
Morning Session

Coaches will assess individual skills before moving into advanced cornering on a mix of flow and technical terrain.

Bring your own lunch or purchase food at the Mt. Abram lodge.
Afternoon Session
1:00–4:00 pm
The afternoon will focus on technical riding and body positioning across both Mainside and Westside terrain. Depending on rider ability and trail conditions, the session may also include advanced jumps, drops, air skills, and style.
Celebrate Your Progress
Wrap up the clinic with a fun group lap alongside fellow riders and coaches.
It is a chance to celebrate the day’s progress, cheer each other on, and finish with one more ride together. Participants who do not want to ride the final lap are encouraged to come watch and support the group.

Women’s Mountain Bike Clinic FAQ
The clinic is open to women, nonbinary riders, and anyone who feels comfortable in a women-centered riding environment.
We welcome a wide range of experience levels, from first-time downhill riders to experienced bike park riders. Participants will be divided into Intro, Intermediate, and Advanced groups.
Intro: Choose this group if you are new to downhill mountain biking or riding at a lift-served bike park for the first time.
Intermediate: Choose this group if you are comfortable riding green and blue bike park trails and want to improve your cornering, technical riding, jumps, drops, and overall confidence.
Advanced: Choose this group if you are an experienced downhill rider who is comfortable on advanced terrain and wants to refine speed, style, advanced cornering, technical riding, and air skills.
Coaches will assess riders during the morning session. If another group would be a better fit, they may recommend switching groups so that each rider has the best possible experience.

Yes. You will need a valid bike park lift ticket or Mt. Abram Bike Park Season Pass to participate.
Clinic participants may purchase a discounted full-day lift ticket for $29 while registering online.
A downhill bike or modern trail or enduro bike in good working condition is recommended.
Your bike should have:
- Working front and rear brakes
- Tires with adequate tread
- Functioning suspension
- Secure handlebars, pedals, and wheels

A full-face helmet is strongly recommended for all riders and expected for participants in the Intermediate and Advanced groups.
Additional recommended protective equipment includes:
- Knee pads
- Elbow pads
- Gloves

Yes. Mt. Abram offers downhill bike and protective equipment rentals.
Rental inventory is limited, so we strongly recommend reserving your bike and equipment in advance.
We recommend bringing:
- Water or a hydration pack
- Lunch or money to purchase food at the lodge
- Snacks
- Extra riding layers for changing weather
- Sunscreen
- Basic repair supplies
- Any personal protective equipment you prefer to ride with
Check-in begins at 9:00 am outside the Bike School Tent. The Bike School tent is located next to the Rental Bike Shop
Introductions and group organization will begin at 9:30 am, giving everyone time to get ready before the lifts open at 10:00 am.
The clinic will run rain or shine unless severe weather, lightning, or trail conditions make riding unsafe.
Any weather-related changes will be communicated by email and through Mt. Abram’s social media channels.
Registrations may be canceled up to 24 hours before the clinic begins to qualify for a refund.

Yes. Coaches will assess participants during the morning session.
If they believe another group would provide a safer or more productive experience, they may recommend that a rider switch groups.
Half-day participation or a modified schedule may be possible.

The Intermediate and Advanced afternoon sessions may include jump and drop progression when appropriate for the group.
Coaching will be tailored to each rider’s ability and comfort level. Riding jumps, drops, or other features is always optional.

All groups will have a one-hour lunch break from 12:00–1:00 pm. Participants may bring their own lunch or purchase food at the Mt. Abram lodge.

Downhill mountain biking can be physically demanding, but the lift takes care of the climbing. The clinic is designed to accommodate riders with different fitness levels, and there will be opportunities to rest throughout the day.
Our coaches will help you progress at a pace that feels manageable and comfortable.
