Lift Mechanic – Entry Level
Full-Time, Year-Round | Mt. Abram Ski Area & Bike Park – Greenwood, Maine
Job Summary
Mt Abram is seeking a full-time, year-round entry level Lift Mechanic to join our team. A love of the outdoors, strong mechanical skills and drive to learn are at the core of starting your Maintenance career. The ideal candidate will enjoy working outdoors in all conditions, work well independently and in a team, self-motivated, and work well under pressure.
Entry Level Mechanics will complete daily, weekly & monthly inspections, preventative maintenance, and assist lead mechanics in projects and troubleshooting malfunctions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults of ski lifts or other equipment.
- Repair and maintain resort equipment as needed.
- Keep workshop in a clean and safe working environment.
- Organize and maintain shop tools and shop equipment in good repair.
- Assist with resort construction projects as needed.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by manager, such as snowmaking, vehicle maintenance, lift operations and grooming.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
- Skilled in providing outstanding customer service.
- Able to multitask in a fast-paced work environment.
- Equipment repair experience

Physical Demands
- Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 75 lbs.

- Must be comfortable climbing and working from towers, up 50 – 70 feet.
- Must be able to hike/ climb rugged, steep and slippery surfaces.
Requirements
Shift Requirements:
- Hours may be long, including early morning through early evening.
- Frequent weekend and holiday shifts.
- Age Requirements: must be 18 years of age
Other Requirements:
- Applicants must have a valid driver’s license to operate ATV’s or vehicles.
Bike Park Lift Operator
Full Time & Part Time available
Seasonal | Summer 2026
Spend your summer outside at Mt. Abram Ski Area & Bike Park helping keep the Bike Park running smoothly. We’re looking for dependable, hardworking team members to join our Lift Operations crew for the summer season.
Lift Operators are responsible for safely loading and unloading bikes onto the chairlift, assisting guests, and helping create a positive experience for riders visiting the mountain. No mechanical experience or mountain biking background is required. Chairlifts are surprisingly straightforward to operate, and we’ll provide all necessary training.
This is an active, outdoor job that keeps you moving all day long. If you enjoy working outside, staying busy, and being part of a team-oriented environment, this could be a great fit.
Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload bikes from the chairlift
- Assist guests with loading, unloading, and navigating lift areas
- Monitor lift operations and communicate with team members
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
- Provide friendly and professional guest service
- Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
Requirements
- Must be able to regularly lift and maneuver bikes weighing 30+ lbs
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

Mountain Bike Coach
Seasonal | Summer 2026
Mt. Abram Ski Area & Bike Park is seeking motivated, engaging, and enthusiastic Mountain Bike Coaches to join our Bike School team for the summer season.
In this role, you’ll help riders build confidence, develop skills, and create lifelong connections to mountain biking in a fun, supportive environment. Coaches play an important role in shaping the guest experience at Mt. Abram while maintaining a strong focus on safety, progression, and community.
This position includes coaching group programs, camps, and private lessons for a wide range of ages and ability levels. Ideal candidates are patient, dependable, team-oriented, and passionate about helping others grow on the bike.
Responsibilities
- Lead group and private mountain bike lessons and programs
- Work with guests and coworkers of all ages and experience levels
- Create a positive, encouraging, and safe learning environment
- Ensure rider safety while monitoring all activities and terrain use
- Adapt coaching style to different skill levels and learning needs
- Assist with a variety of Bike School programming throughout the season
- Follow all safety policies, emergency procedures, and operational guidelines
- Attend Mt. Abram staff orientation and required trainings
