 Mt. Abram is proud to be the only Maine mountain offering weekend NASTAR racing. The NASTAR program is legendary for being the premier recreational racing program in the country. Your NASTAR registration at Mt. Abram automatically enters you in the NASTAR national ranking system and may qualify you for the annual NASTAR Nationals competition to be held at Steamboat Springs, CO, in March. Mt. Abram racers have participated in the
Nationals both individually and as a team, with great success including a ranking of 20th overall in the Nation and several high individual rankings, including two first place finishes. Whether you are in it for the national ranking or simply the exhilaration of racing against the clock for the day, there is no better way to spice up your life as a snow dog than by joining our NASTAR races, held on Saturday and Sunday mornings throughout the season.

Do you have the need for speed? A yearning to hear the cowbells clanking and feel the quads burning? If so, then the Mt Abram Racer Development Team is for you. This seasonal program is for the aggressive skier (age 7 or over) who wishes to build on their sound skiing skills and learn the tactics and techniques involved in competitive racing. Coaching representation may be available for some MARA/USSA races as part of this program. Program runs for 10 weeks on Saturdays
beginning Jan. 5th , with 4 hours coaching each day (9-11am and 12-2pm). Lunch will not be supervised by coaches, but skiers often remain with their teammates for the lunch hour.
