Mt. Abram Cross-Country Skiing and Snowshoeing

Mt Abram offers complimentary cross-country skiing and snowshoeing on Duane's Nordic Retreat, the original alpine beginner area at the resort.

Skiers and snowshoers will find several beginner alpine trails with connecting traverses for easier climbing to the top of the old T-Bar. Many of the newly constructed connecting trails follow old skidder roads through the mixed evergreen and deciduous forest offering endless possibilities to create your own loop trips of varying length. Outstanding views from Duane's Retreat overlook East Bethel, ponds, and lakes in the region, and mountains of the Oxford Hills region.

We do allow skier and snowshoe traffic on a work road which connects the main base area to Westside. Skiers and snowshoers are welcome to use this trail, but please be aware that other traffic such as snow machines and grooming equipment use this road regularly.

Please drop by the ticket center to receive your complimentary trail pass and map and to check snow conditions. There are no classical lanes set on these trails and be aware that traffic is bi-directional for skiers and snowshoers. Please remember and adhere to your responsibility code.
